About

We are building a better way to program industrial robots

We are a deep-tech robotics software company from Magdeburg. Born from the VIP+ AuRora research project at Otto von Guericke University, we develop vendor-independent technology for automated, collision-free and cycle-time-optimized programming of complex industrial robot systems.
Our mission
From robotics research to industrial software. byte robotics was founded on the belief that industrial robot programming can be automated, validated and optimized instead of repeated manually.
2025
Entering the market.

After the EXIST project, byte robotics raises seed financing with bmp ventures and the IBG funds and continues bringing automated robot motion generation and optimization into industrial engineering workflows.

2024
byte robotics is founded.

byte robotics GmbH is founded in Magdeburg on June 13, 2024. The company develops vendor-independent robotics software that integrates into existing offline programming and engineering systems.

2023
From research to a company idea.

The IQ Innovation Award Central Germany and EXIST Research Transfer funding strengthen the path from scientific development toward industrial application.

2020
The technological foundation.

The VIP+ AuRora research project at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg lays the foundation for automated, collision-free and cycle-time-optimized programming of industrial robots.

Funding & recognition

Supported on the path from research to industry.

Public funding helped us turn research into robust industrial technology. In 2023, the team behind byte robotics, then known as AuRora, won the Automotive cluster of the IQ Innovation Award Central Germany. Two awards in the Startup Competition – Digital Innovations followed in 2025.
