Robotics Software Development

Overview

Software for demanding robotics and engineering workflows

We develop software for requirements that standard tools cannot address effectively. Your engineering process provides the starting point: which data is available, which decisions need support and which steps can be automated reliably?

Designed for your system landscape. Typical projects include interfaces between engineering tools, processing robot and process data, and integrating motion planning into existing applications.

A clearly defined implementation. Together, we agree on scope, interfaces, acceptance criteria and handover. The result is a maintainable solution that fits your architecture and the day-to-day work of its users.

Target Groups

Process

From a use case to an integrated software solution

Step 1

Understand the use case and requirements

We examine the existing workflow, the systems involved and the intended outcome.

Step 2

Define the architecture and interfaces

We specify data flows, scope and verifiable acceptance criteria.

Step 3

Develop, test and hand over

We implement the agreed solution, test it in context and document its operation and handover.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers about byte robotics, our engineering services and automated robot programming.

Does byte robotics replace our offline programming environment?

byte robotics adds automated motion planning to your engineering environment. The integrations for Visual Components, KUKA.Sim and iiQWorks.Sim build on your existing simulation and programming workflow.

Planning uses the robot cell, relevant geometry, process positions and constraints. We review the requirements for your software version before you get started.

What does byte robotics automate, and what remains with the engineering team?

byte robotics generates and optimizes robot motion from a digital task definition. Planning accounts for geometry, robot kinematics and the specified process requirements.

Your team defines the process and reviews the result. Available program formats depend on the integration and target system. Validation on the physical cell remains part of commissioning.

Can we integrate motion planning into our own software?

byte robotics Headless provides the planning and optimization technology as a software component. Your application supplies the task and robot data, then consumes the generated motion.

We agree on interfaces, data formats, deployment and licensing in the context of your architecture and application. A description of your product and intended workflow is a useful starting point.

Funding & recognition

Supported on the path from research to industry.

Public funding helped us turn research into robust industrial technology. In 2023, the team behind byte robotics, then known as AuRora, won the Automotive cluster of the IQ Innovation Award Central Germany. Two awards in the Startup Competition – Digital Innovations followed in 2025.
