In that case, the data will be deleted once those grounds no longer apply.

Legal bases for processing data on this website

Where you have given consent, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or, where special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR. Where explicit consent has been given for the transfer of personal data to third countries, processing is also based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to cookies being stored or information on your device being accessed, for example by device fingerprinting, processing is additionally based on Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Where your data is required to perform a contract or take steps before entering into a contract, we process it on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The applicable legal basis for each individual instance of processing is set out below.

Recipients of personal data

We work with various external organisations in the course of our business. This may require us to transfer personal data to them. We disclose personal data only where this is necessary to perform a contract, where we are legally required to do so, for example to tax authorities, where we have a legitimate interest in disclosure under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or where another legal basis permits disclosure. When we use processors, we disclose our customers' personal data only on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. Where processing is carried out jointly, a joint controller arrangement is concluded.

Withdrawal of consent

Many processing activities are possible only with your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object to processing in specific cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

WHERE DATA IS PROCESSED ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THOSE PROVISIONS. THE APPLICABLE LEGAL BASIS IS SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS THE PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING IS REQUIRED FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).

WHERE YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR SUCH MARKETING. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(2) GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you believe that the GDPR has been infringed, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. This right is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Right to data portability

You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it transmitted to a third party. Direct transmission to another controller will take place only where this is technically feasible.

Access, rectification and erasure

Within the framework of applicable law, you have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about the personal data we store about you, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the processing. You may also have the right to request that this data be corrected or erased. You may contact us at any time regarding this or any other question about personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. You may contact us at any time to exercise this right. The right to restriction applies in the following cases:

  • If you contest the accuracy of personal data we hold about you, we generally need time to verify its accuracy. You have the right to request restriction of processing while we carry out this verification.
  • If your personal data has been or is being processed unlawfully, you may request restriction of processing instead of erasure.
  • If we no longer require your personal data but you need it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, you may request restriction of processing instead of erasure.
  • If you have objected under Art. 21(1) GDPR, your interests and ours must be balanced. While it is not yet clear whose interests prevail, you have the right to request restriction of processing.

Where processing has been restricted, this personal data may, apart from being stored, be processed only with your consent, for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

SSL and TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect confidential content transmitted to us, such as orders or enquiries, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. An encrypted connection is indicated by the change from “http://” to “https://” in your browser's address bar and by the padlock icon.

When SSL or TLS encryption is enabled, data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties while in transit.

4. Data collection on this website

Contact form and other forms of contact

If you contact us through the contact form, by email or by telephone, we process your enquiry and the information you provide, particularly your name, email address, company and the content of your message, in order to respond to you. When you use the contact form, your enquiry is sent to hello@byte-robotics.com through the mail service of our Cloudron installation. Data is disclosed only where necessary to handle your enquiry or where required by law.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary in order to take steps before entering into a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries addressed to us effectively (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where consent has been requested. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

We retain the data you submit in a contact enquiry until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies, for example once your enquiry has been fully resolved. Mandatory statutory provisions, particularly legal retention periods, remain unaffected.

5. Analytics and locally hosted fonts

Audience measurement with Umami

We use two instances of the cookie-free Umami web analytics software in parallel to understand how our website is used and to improve it. They process technical usage data such as the page visited, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, language, and the time and duration of access.

We operate one instance in our own server environment. A second instance, already used for our previous website, is provided by CodeGewerk GmbH, Sandtorstraße 23, 39106 Magdeburg, Germany, at analytics.cg-in.de. When you access our website, the technical usage data described above is transmitted to both instances. Parallel measurement allows us to continue the existing statistical time series while moving to the new website.

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in statistically evaluating and technically improving our online services and in maintaining comparable audience data during the transition.

Google Fonts (local hosting)

This website uses fonts provided by Google to ensure consistent typography. The Google Fonts are installed locally, and no connection is made to Google's servers.

Further information about Google Fonts is available at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
